I've been trying to get an account here for months, and just kept getting error messages. But today was my lucky day and here I am! Aren't you excited!?
I've had my '72 LUV for one year coming this Thursday, and I've learned a ton about what's up with it from lurking around this place.

Here's Battletruck Galactica in all her glory.

She barely ran when I picked her up. Carb was funky, and the electrical had the essence of a meth addict all through it. The wire to the electric fuel pump had six splices in it! Haha. I guess one long piece of wire was too difficult to steal.
I rewired just about everything, and put a Weber carb on. Runs amazing compared to what it was, but there's still much to do under the hood.
In a few short weeks I'll be hosting a paint party for the truck. A few friends and I will be spraypainting and brush painting all the colors, shapes, and designs over the truck. I'll be sure to post pictures when it's done!

Anyway, thanks for all the information I've gathered on here, I look forward to learning more and hopefully adding my wisdom where appropriate!

Welcome to the site. Nice looking truck, the 72 is a great year with a bunch of one year only stuff.

It's been a fun adventure tearing into this truck. I recently found tin foil stashed in several crevasses under the truck. No drugs in em, but I can't imagine why it was there. The seat belt receivers had pieces of wood epoxied to them, with the wood epoxied to the old seat covers. Guess they didn't want them running away!
I'm not too worried about finding parts though. Just about everything I've replaced so far has been with an easy to find part with some slight modification. I'm not concerned with keeping her stock. Just running well and looking cool!
