Hey guys so I just picked up my first 76 LUV yesterday and I can't get it to stay running.
I replaced the fuel filter and fuel pump so I'm getting gas now and it will fire, but after idling for roughly 10-15 seconds it will rev up on its own and then die.
Any ideas I'm new to these isuzu engines!

Thank you very much for the input on FB I think I'm starting to narrow the problem!
I've been looking at other forms on here and starting to think its the pump relay under the metal box or the voltage regulator?
I read somewhere to unplug the voltage regulator? What does that do because i did that and it still idled then died...
Does anyone know how i can bypass the fuel pump relay?
Also when I was testing my fuel pump today what I did was wired a ground directly to my battery and also a positive to see if it would run. I thought about doing this to see if it was one of these relays / regulator / alternator but i didnt know if i had the pump pumping into the carb would it flood the engine before i was able to start it? Or maybe a two person job to have someone touch the positive to the battery from the fuel pump to engage it then i crank it over ? If this makes sense?
Thanks guys
