Traded a non running Suburban for this a couple weeks ago. Been using it as a daily, seems to be doing fine (knock on wood) but it has started to begin overheating only when moving. Stop at a light, it climbs right down. And when I turn the lights on it starts climbing a lot faster and sometimes stays up there. I have heard the voltage regulator is bad, clogged radiator, and bad alternator

sounds like an electrical issue. my fuel gauge doesn't work but I had some burnt wiring and when I hit the brake it slowly climbed to full and stayed there a bit it could be an electrical system fault, if you have a multimeter and can check the voltage output from your alt and after the regulator.
