Is it possible to install 4x4 into a 77 2wd luv?

depends on how you want to do it
either swap to the frame/chassis from a stock 4x4
or you could get a 4x4 transmission and t case, a pair of Toyota or jeep xj straight axles (make sure you get the one with the pass side front diff) and a lot of custom work

If your asking if it's a bolt in job, no. The frames are different, the mounting points are different, it's too much work to get right.

agreed
it was a big pain to swap my truck from 4x4 to 2wd going the other way would be even worse, unless you wanted to go straight axle, in that case it would probably be easier to start with a 2wd chassis

Seems like the swap to frame is the more desirable method to accomplish the retrofit.

by far, if you have a good body on the 2wd it would be easier to just switch the frames out and do the misc changes like the tcase shifter hole and such unless you were wanting to make a serious wheeling rig
