Hi everyone, I have just bought a Mikado Steering wheel and the horn pad and badge are missing (the trim ring is still there).
As i would say I have no hope of finding one I was thinking of attempting to make one :eugeek
The badge I am not worried about the Badge as I am having one made (hopefully) with the Isuzu logo.
I am interested in if the badge is actually part of the pad section or mounts to the steering wheel separately, and
if some one out there has a couple of close up photos I can work from :D

Many Thanks
Joshua

Here are a few photos I took of my 1978 Mikado steering wheel today. I am assuming the steering wheel is actually the original, but the truck is new to me so I cannot guarantee that fact. Hope this helps.

Many thanks Robert, that does help, it show how far it sits forward of the silver trim ring. :D
Can you tell me is that vinyl ring padded or hard?
I am hoping someone has a picture of it apart. :eugeek

The vinyl surround is fairly hard - feels sort of like a hard rubber. I can just slightly dent it with my fingernail. Whether it was that hard in 1978 might be another question ;-)

There is a hard plastic disc that the rubber padded ring is glued to and the badge is also popped into the middle of. The plastic disc is as big around as the hole in the metal trim ring, and fits tightly into the rubber of the main body of the steering wheel. It is slightly flared on the edge, tapering outward toward the dash side of the wheel. It is just over 1/4 inch thick or so. I used to have one somewhere that was missing the rubber ring, but I don't have any of my LUV parts with me right now to look or take a pic.
