Looks pretty dang clean for 1000 bucks. Almost too good to be true, actually. Is the interior gone or something? From what he says, it runs well, but do you have any pics of the engine bay?

Is there any rust in the floorpans? Wheel wells? Frame??

Based on those 3 images you posted, I'd say it's worth a thousand dollar gamble

edit: feel free to sell me your rear bumper when you buy the truck.

The license tags say 2011 so hopefully the pictures are current. In California back due registration can kill a deal pretty quick. If it looks like that and runs it is a good deal. Lift up the carpet and check the floors though. 8)

Check the rocker panels under the door for rust.

so it was a 3 hour drive home... it was going well until all the sudden it started puttering out...(about 2 hours into my drive home) seemed like maybe fuel wasnt going through or something... i pulled over and sat for a few minutes then tried it again and she rode fine the rest of the way home...

when i tried to start her this morning she started up then puttered out when i tried giving her gas.... but after a couple goes stayed cookin.... and was fine the rest of the day... i put a new fuel filter in but the old one seemed like it was allowing air ok (blow test)

any ideas about whats happening?

seemed like it was also idleing a little fast too, so i adjusted the carb a bit... much better now.

also when i turn stop the engine she kind of shakes a bit for a split second?

as requested, some pics of the engine bay

Nice,My guess is the gas tank has some gunk in it, if it sat for any length of time. The filter was a good place to start, but there should one back by the tank if you didn't know. I would change it if you haven't. The sheet metal under the hood looks great, I think you scored with the truck. 8)

Looks like it has a Weber card on it. If so you are looking at $400 in savings already. It has been de smog'd, not much of a benefit there but it cleans up the engine bay. I am surprised the battery actually has a hold down, most LUV's in this price range don't have them. Looks to me that this truck was taken care of at some point in its life. You got a great deal for that price.

Well done, nice carb. You basically got a $600 vehicle, and a bonus weber carb -installed- for free 8) . It's probably the nicest upgrade for a stock truck.

A few fuel system hiccups are tolerable in the face of that kind of fortune. It seems to have been a well-cared-for truck.

When you figure out what is actually causing your few problems, do share. Threads like yours are very helpful to new members later on.

found the other filter down by the gas tank... replaced it (it was pretty bad) and dumped some sea foam into the tank.

I think I see a problem with your truck. The Weber needs a fuel pressure regulator, I don't see one in your pictures. Here is one post about it

hmmmm i will check it out... hopefully its not harming my engine too much?

also im having a "Dieseling" issue.... do you think that might be the reason...

from what iv read on the site it may be a carb or timing issue... should i test one before the other?

thanks guys!!!

Get the fuel pressure regulator installed, with a weber you must have one to get down to the 2.5 psi you need. Then tune it as per the instructions in the info area, check and adjust the timing and the dieseling will most likely go away.
