so I got me a 74 with a v8. theres lines that lead to nowhere. and certain things that aren't mandatory in my eyes missing. the ones who owned this truck that did this conversion I guess decided not to pull out the unused parts. is it easier to pull everything out and start over or trace the lines back to origin and remove?

If it runs fine why pull the engine? You are looking at the truck and know your abilities why ask us what you should do?

Yea, get some pics posted when you can so we can see what you have there. I agree, if it runs, no need to pull the motor, just work around it. No need to create extra work.

dont wanna create anymore work then i got ahead. starts easily. idles nice. But i guess came across wrong with question.

When the guy did the engine swap. guess did the sloppy leave the old junk and not remove. pictures show engine. and the 2 wires in question.

Followed this line in hand. It goes into firewall next to Brake pump thing.

Had to get rid of the school bus yellow.. Rattle can... but it isnt yellow.

Only thing thats stopping me from going and driving this thing is a tranny fluid leak and a front driver brake is bad. My question was more to the tune of would it been easier to pull out and put everything back in thats suppose to go in... not having these extra lines runnin around.

The first cable you show is the emergency brake cable. The second cable is the transmission kick down cable, it needs to be hooked up to the carb and adjusted. I also see the accelator cable needs to be installed better or replaced. Do a search on the Internet on the kick down cable and adjustment for what ever trans you have. To be honest I am a bit worried on your mechanical ability. A kick down cable is a basic piece of mechanics.

My truck was a mess when I got it from the threaded rod throttle to the gas line routed around the outside of the shock tower. Yours doesn't look too bad to start with. I would have lived with the yellow for a while before throwing a rattle can paint job on it though. It didn't look too bad.

so am I... LoL.

why I put in somewhere. I know basics. But with that. I very little about the engine compartment.

and for my comment on yellow. people do like yellow. nothing wrong with it. if the truck didn't have the green lace rims it might have stayed longer. =D
