When I did mine all I had to do was mount the alternator and run one wire off of the main terminal of the alternator to the positive side of the battery. And that was it. But don't do like I did. I got tired of looking at the battery light/generator light so I took the bulb out of the dash. When I did that it killed the power to the fuel pump.

I got an alternator that worked in 1 wire or 3 wire mode. I used the stock luv wiring. It works good. With the key on, use a test light. The wire that is hot hooks to the #2 terminal and the other goes to #1 terminal. The big one goes to the obvious place.

So the hot wire is voltage sensing and the none hot wire it the lamp ? This is internal regulated ? The prints are small , my eyes not so good anymore and black and white sucks .

Correct. The hot wire excites the alternator to let it know when the ignition is on and it's ok to charge (otherwise it's rpm sensitive.) The other wire is for the idiot light and the fuel pump. This is for an internally-regulated alternator.
