Have a luv and stumbled apon a super clean 1974 For Courier. Looks very similar to a Luv and was just wondering how they compare. Think I can get it for cheap price.

Man if you can get it for under 1k grab it! I had a 79 and I shit you not it was without a doubt one of the best trucks I've ever owned. Pretty on par with the luv if you ask me but wayyy better gas mileage. I was avg'n about 35-45 depending on how I drove it.
It lasted from 54k miles to 238k which was all done within like 2-3 years which it would have probably gone further had I not put a 12k lbs load on it(blew head gasket)

All in all very reliable and worth keeping around if its as clean as you say it is

Where the LUV's flaky electrical problems are mostly in the fuse box, the Courier has flaky splices scattered through out the wiring harness. My father in law and I once spent a whole day tracking them down and soldering them. That was on a less than 10 years old truck in Alabama. Wouldn't take one as a gift.

I have always liked the look of the early 70's Couriers. Clean and simple.

My buddy had an early Courier a couple times. It actually came in and out of his possession 2 or 3 times. It always ran great. Made a horrible sound due to no timing chain guides, but it ran great. The letters on the hood had been changed to read " DORF". So that was it's name.
