What is the trick to spinning the star wheel to adjust the rear shoes? The thing won't budge and my new drums wont fit over my new shoes.

It may be froze. I often replace much of the hardware on a reline. Also rebuild the wheel cylinders and calipers every few brake jobs. I would replace it if you can find a new one. Otherwise, remove it, give it a good shot of penetrating oil, and a rappy tap tap with a small hammer. Then work at turning it. Repeat as needed. Once it is freed up, coat the threads with graphite or a light coat of Sil-Glyde.

Thanks for the tips! Soaked it in some PB Blaster, re-lubed it, now it works like new.
