Hi im Eric and I have a 1980 Luv 1.8 2wd 4spd and my mechanic says I need an air diverter valve, I cannot find 1, is it the same as the air check valve or does it have another name? Thank you.

Diverter valve is the correct name. It is part of the air pump smog control system. When you are coasting with the throttle closed it "diverts" the air from the tubes in the exhaust manifold to the engine intake system, to lean out the mixture and eliminate backfiring.

any luck in finding this i need it too the mechanic says. Please help. trucks been at the shop 3 months now
