greetings all
there's a '74 luv for sale not far from me, i'm going to look at it in a few days, but i'd like some advice
from all the pros before i buy.

i talked to the owner today. he says he's had it 6 months and is selling it. it was stalling out intermittently and
so he rebuilt the carb, put new plugs and fuel filter, new pump and changed oil but it still has problems with intermittent stall.
he can't figure out the problem but he did mention it seemed to run better with a full tank of gas.

i'm thinking it's either something electric [corroded wires, contacts, or fuses] that's cutting off electric to the motor.
or short of that, a rusty ol' gas tank that's fouling up the filter. but really who knows...

he's asking $1500, but hopefully i can talk him down.

a few questions:

1) anything specific i should look out for when i go to purchase?
2) what would you pay for this luv?

thanks a ton
jj

It will need a carb, price a weber for it.

Easy to tell if fuel or electrical. Next time it stalls look at the carb sight glass window---fuel should be half up the window. If not, fuel problem, if so look for elecrical trouble. If fuel you may be right, dirty fuel reclogging the fuel filter.
