as far as I know the truck is pretty close to stock, and I'm looking for basic information that I should know, and things that I should be looking out for along with some other questions:
Power stearing?
Different dashboards because this one sucks!?
I can't seem to get it to ingage in 4x4?
Right now, I'm looking to put a lift on it, bigger tires, a little body work, redo the interior, and lighting! I have been looking to do a different dash, power stearing, Things like that! Please help! Thanks!!

Power steering -> viewtopic.php?f=7&t=2325&hilit=power+steering+conversion

One member here is working on reproduction dashboards. Other than that, you can either make your own or if the bottom isn't trashed, get a cap from ebay or JC Whitney. I've had a cap on mine for 17 years now and it looks good.

Don't know anything about 4 wheel drive on these trucks.

The LUV in the attached picture is either a '79 or '80, if that's a picture of your truck it's not a '77. The first stock 4x4 LUV was '79. '78, '79 & '80 were the only years with that single headlight body style. '77s had twin headlights and I think was the last year for the wing glass. The tag on the door pillar should have the manufacture date. You will have better luck finding parts if you ask for the correct year.

Thanks for the information! Much appreciated! I plan on building this truck up to something like this Toyota: http://www.home.surewest.net/locktup/im ... oiuhyg.jpg (as far as tires and suspension goes)

Right now, zero of my guages work, and this haynes manual is not quite working for me... any help?

Invest about $40 in a factory service manual, ebay is a good place to look or place WTB in the classified section here on the forum. Just make sure you get either a '79 or '80 (series 9 or series 10) or it won't have the proper body style & 4x info.

Given the picture above, and the fact that the ellectrical is a little cheesy.... I think it needs new hubs, and its a new motor, what do you think I could get for this thing?
