When i tighten my e-brake to set it in actual position for use as when i bought the truck the owner had it disengaged. Once it is tightened and in place I can drive a few hundred feet and it begins to engage randomly? stopping the truck but then releasing is once again. keep in mind i have a body lift could this effect the e-brake?

if the hang brake is a cable system which i think it is... never taken the time to look at mine.
if you have a body lift it could effect it. since the cable would be required to move 3" farther between body and brake it could have very little slack which may be causing the problem if the cable is unable to fully release the brake. i would picture the body lift as being equivalent as a 3" pull in the handle but i could be wrong. or it could be hungup on something? not sure, i will take a look at mine and see what i can figure out

Yeah it is a cable, but with the angle, I am not sure how much difference the lift will make. I would pull the drums and make sure the rear brakes are working freely. You may need to rebuild/replace the wheel cylinders. I usually rebuild. You can do it in place and let the fluid flush out the grit after honing.

My guess is that there's something funky going on inside the rear brake drums. They might have been assembled wrong or something. Or it could just be that the rear drums are warped.
