I’m Hope, I’m 25 and I’ve owned my 1980 Chevy Luv (automatic long bed) for about a year now. I’ve replaced a few brake lines and fiddled with the intake screw on the carb, so nothing too crazy. Right now I’m facing the troubles of replacing the master cylinder along with my drums/shoes! My pedal started to sink to the floor as I drive so when taking it in for new tires I had them peek at the brakes. I’m a machinist by trade, always been better at making stuff rather than fixing it, but this LUV has been my world for this past year and I’d like to think I got the skill to fix up this old turd I got off of Facebook marketplace. Getting in touch with some people who may have worked on these trucks before would be a helpful step towards getting this thing running its best again! Maybe I’ll come back and update after I’ve got the MC replaced.

Congratulations. MC isn't that hard to do. Bench bleed it...get all the air bubbles out. Bolt it one and bleed all 4 at the wheels. There are plenty of YT videos on this. Make of vehicle won't really matter. This forum unfortunately is pretty dead now days, but there is lots of good information on it. For quicker answers, I suggest a LUV Facebook group. There are several. Good luck on your truck, and learning how to fix it.
