Hello everyone my name.is Cadden. I'm 28 and a few months ago purchased my first luv. it is a 1980 4x4 mikado stepside. runs and.drives great but when.I.bought it the blower motor was already out. I purchased a new.motor but the wheel.from.the old.motor.does.not fit nor does.the.new.motor.fit the location where the old.motor went. its slightly larger. also.the old.motor had a.nut.holding.the wheel on the motor. the new.motor has a slotted pole. any help.would.be.appreciated. I've been.searching.for an.answer for a few days.

what year and model was the replacement designed to fit? there may have been a change somewhere along the timeline, or it may be for a pup and listed wrongly as also fitting a luv.
where did you pick it up from? you may be able to find a corrent replacement with the part number from the original

I picked the blower motor up from autozone 4 seasons part number 35499 which from what I have researched online fits a 1980 luv. My door sticker says Jan 1980 so could it be a 79? i cant find a 79 motor anywhere to look and nobody can even get one. (I work for napa and have checked with everyone) I would luv to be driving this but not without heat!~ lol

Have you checked out the motor yourself? Blower motors seldom die, it is more likely the resistor block, switch, or a wiring problem. Connect it to a battery to see if it runs. My thoughts.

The motor should spin easy by hand. If this is the case but it still spins slowly then yes--you have a bad motor.

Ok I tried a different battery and the thing just about jumped out of my hand lol. I'm going to hook it back up and see if I can trace with my multimeter
