My 1980 2wd luv is running at 0 degrees TDC with the vacuum line to the dizzy plugged........the hanes manual says 6 degrees TDC. The truck runs fine and seems to be getting good gas mileage (24mpg). Everything is original besides the tune-up items points, sparkplugs, cap rotor, etc. What should i do?

How does it run at 6?
Is the power ok at 0?
I would think 6 would give you much more power. I would try 6 if it runs well there, you can always put it back to 0 if you want.

Try 3 degrees, if it runs cool and does not ping then push it up ro 6.
