so I own a series 10 80' 2wd luv and I believe it has the smog stuff still in it. The truck was originally purchased in Tri cities, wa in 1980 and continues to stay here in The Tricities with me. what does removing the smog system do to any engine performance? Do i need to redo any timing or change anything after removal? And what do i use to seal the existing lines? amy info is much appreciated.

I'm having a problem getting a copy of another post to paste here but if you go to the Search icon and type in...... removing smog equipment......there will be a couple post pop up that should answer your questions.

You will see some creative solutions to sealing the ports in the exhaust manifold. The only common thing that fits the M 14-1.25 threads is a spark plug. Other than that, just rip everything off. Perhaps see if any of our California brethern are desperate for the parts, or somebody wanting a stock restoration.
