Hi everyone,

Im a brand new member here and would like to say Hello and HELP.

I just recently bought 2 LUV trucks one is a 1972 and the other is a 1976. They are both missing the seats, dash, alternator and few little bits. I will show you all pictures soon when I have sometime to upload them.

My major problem is both the trucks are missing the coil and the resistor, and whoever has taken them out just chopped them out. I have bought the coil, resistor new contacts the lot, but I can't work out how to wire it back in, I have done so much searching not only on this site but all over for some sort of picture I can work off, I have purchased a Haynes manual but this still hasn't helped me. I have tried many different ways to connect this up but still with no spark from the coil.

Im from Australia so finding another LUV to look at is hard to do, sorry to be a pain but I need the 72 going tonight or absolute latest the weekend.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm about to replace the fuse block, but I doubt this is the problem due to there is power at the coil and the fuel pump runs.

I'm just after some pictures guys of that area and possibly with the dizzy cap off.

Cheers

I can't help, because I don't do stock... You really need to get a
factory service manual for each. (If both are stock, the engines are different). Haynes is worthless...

Thanks mate,

Yeah I need to invest, but due to time constraints I cant really order one and have it in time for this mission. I cant belive I cant get it working be that there is pritty much only 3 wires needed here.

Could having no alternator on it make an effect?

Cheers

Daniel

Yes. And you will not have power to the fuel pump either...

Thanks for the comments. I have finally worked it out. I have pics and can help if anyone is having this issue.

I also had power running to the fuel pump, at the appropriate time through out this issue.
