Hey guys I just found this site and I wanted to commend the creator of this site because the Chevrolet LUV is a nice truck. I finally found a site about LUVs and it is cool. I am 17 and I own a 1982 Chevy LUV diesel. I'm looking forward to visiting LUVtruck.com everyday and talking about them.

Welcome to the site LUVdiesel, you are our 40th member! it sure is cool to see the member count up that high. So by your id I take it you own a diesel LUV truck (or you're related to Vin Diesel from the 'fast and the ridiculous'? LOL). If the former is correct, are you considering an engine swap? The truck being a diesel probably opens up a lot of possabilities from the smog perspective, at least in some states.

I don't plan to swap the engine. I like diesel vehicles and having a diesel mini truck is real cool. It's good to get 35 mpg driving around. About the smog, are you saying that diesel vehicles are not permitted to drive if they can't pass an emissions test? I live in Pennsylvania so I wouldn't know.

Usually diesels don't have to have emissions tests. Therefore the truck would be good for v8 swap because in most states emissions requirements are dictated by what was required for that vehicle at the time it was manufactured.
