well i bought the luc under the impression that a fuel pump and a tune up along with a new head gasket.. with possible machineing of the heads would have this LUV on the road..

well we removed the head.. and took a gander, wow, talk about rusty haha

so yeah.. i am debating on whether to pull the motor and work on other parts of the truck and getting a v8 in the spring

oh god.. can nothing work

just a lil update

oh and interior is still coming along.. i am gettin seats here soon.. i have the floor all cleaned, primered. I would like a carpet kit.. but i am lacking funds at the moment so it will have to wait till i can get some cash flow

anthony

that sucks some ass right there. i dont know anyone local that has a luv motor, so i cant help ya there. i can understand that you wanna drive the thing, but if your really gonna commit to doin the v8 swap i wouldnt spend money on a motor that you just gonna pull. if it were me i start getting the stuff for the v8 swap. ive found that its better to collect a mass of the parts so that you can 'work' on it and not just do little things here and there. start looking in the thrify nickel. theres always a few smallblocks in there. these always trannys in there too.

if you need any help, just shoot me a PM or somethin.

When these trucks were new, blown head gaskets were a major problem. Cast iron block with an aluminum head with the a/c running on a hot day was all it took for many a Luv to go back to the dealership. Luckily someone figured out that a V8 would drop in. 350's and th-350's are relatively inexpensive, and I've seen trucks that get 23 mpg on the highway when you keep your foot out of it.

That would be cool to have more V8 Luvs running around here too!!
