just writing to say that I got my v-8 in my luv and know plan on building a
500 to 600 horse 350 for it. my question to you guys is that right know i'm using a 64 impala powerglide tranny but when I build my new motor should I stick with the powerglide or switch to a turbo 350 or 400 tranny.
I also plan on putting a ford 9inch rearend.

ill go first. I have a turbo 350 with a shift improver kit. It was professionally rebuilt by a guy in town that does about 10 a week. $350. Its held up and I have no complaints at all. I grenaded my stock rearend due to a crap load of power. I have 4:56 gears and am runnig a 1800+ stall that works well with my "package" Ive thought about a 400, but will instead finish my truck this spring and start my next project....

anyone want to know what it is.......?

I'll post it.......

a glide is pretty consistent at the track. but if your going to drive on the street i would go with the turbo. besides parts are starting to get scarce for the glide and expensive later terry

If it is for street, i would definitely go with the 3speeds. As for which one, if you're gonna put in high powered motor you probably be better off going with a TH400, but thats my opinon.
