I did it . Replaced my 1.8 gas with a 2.2 diesel . had to lift the body 4"and make motor and trans mounts also change front housing on the transmission I used a 1986 2wd as a doner.

What kind of diesel? Isuzu?(stock luv motor)

you should be getting good mpg 40 to 50 on a long run.

The old diesel will just keep on going and going and should

pull like a train :D

That's cool you switched the LUV to diesel. The 2.2 diesel engine is a tough engine, so you took a step in the right direction. You are the 2nd person i have heard put a diesel into the older 72-80 LUVs. My uncle did it and he had to do a few custom things, especially glow plug stuff. Do you know how many MPG you are getting also?
