I can get anywhere from about 15 to about 1, depending how heavy my foot is and the driving conditions.

I remember once I used 1/4 tank of gas to go 3 miles to work. Every stoplight and every stop sign was a drag race because I was late for work and pissed off.

The best that I have had is about 20mpg. That is light on the pedal and 95% freeway driving. I have an Edelbrock 600 and Weiand 8004.

i would think if you work at it you could get close to 30mpg,keep the engine close to stock ,i would run a dual plane and a q-jet the spread bore carbs get great mpg, a 4speed auto would be cool, and the rear gear about 3.0 or a high 2 something like that ,late chev camaros set up this way get 28-34 mpg and they weigh 600lbs or so more
by the way my truck is like Ben's 12 on the good side 2 or 3 on the race side hope this helps

I'd just like to add that when you gas mileage is pushin the 10 mpg or less, that means your probably 'on it' 8O , which in turn means your doing exactly what you V-8'd your little truck for, which in turn means that your gas bill is MONEY WELL SPENT. And that is the bottom line.

Well I'm 16 and my luv is my first truck and I don't have a job yet so I never ever have gas money. The Luv is great though because I just put a buck in and I can make it atleast the 3 miles to school and back. My 76 luv has the stock 1.8 engine with pretty much stock everything and it has a lot of miles in it after the "E" is reached so it can't be bad on gas.
