Ive been toyin with using a 2wd S-10 chassis for a street rod project after the Luv is on the road. I have an oppertunity to buy a 92 4wd S-10 blazer for dirt cheap. Im talking $100 for a excelent running/driving truck with a poop canned body. I was actualy supposed to replace the fenders and door pins on it for him before he had an accident with it. Theres no frame damage and everything still works. Because of its age and milage the insurance company would total it. So, what do you all think about using a 4wd chassis for a srteet rod?

well if its a blazer 4x4 you should convert it to AWD. that would be fun with a 350 and a luv body on it.

Well, I was thinking more along the lines of an old sedan body. A past freind of mine had a 30s coupe body on a Ford Ranger chassis. But he started out with a 2wd chassis. I think the 4wd might work with the right stance & wheel/tire combo.

well the 4x4 s-series has torsion bar front suspension, so if you wan to lower it you can get torsion bar keys that are rekeyed to you can lower it more than with just the stock keys. then it would have a nice stance.

I think thats already been done. Hes got a set of late model vette wheels on it with some short side wall tires and it fooled me. I thought it was a 2wd until he told me the 4wd still works.

There is a site that makes new body mounts for the frame to use under the 48-54 chev-gmc trucks. Only thing it is a $1000 buck for them.. I have seen and read about a number of things using ths S frame under differnt stuff.

Grandmaster of the "Shade Tree" way.. I can't see the yard for all the cars. Come on down and we will sit on the porch and watch the grass grow.
