the dgev is an electric choke and the dgv is a manual i think. Which choke to use is all up to preferance.

For ease of setup and starting go with the electric choke DGEV. The manual choke works ok, but you'll have to mess with it each time you start up and adjust it down over the first ten minutes or so of running. I've had both and niether is perfect but the electric is a lot less hassle each time you fire it up. The manual you can fine tune it to run just perfectly right at any given moment, but as the motor warms up you have to keep readjusting. The electric isn't as precise, but it will run cold and turn itself off when hot. I tended to forget to pull off the choke for a while when I had a manual.

The water choke actually has a pipe in and out for water so that once the water gets up to temp the choke backs off. It would be a pain to pipe it in but it probably has a little better time of adjusting to the actual motor temps more precisely. I've never used one though. I'd bet the electric would be just about as good for the most part.
