can you put 302s in luvs or do you have to go with chevy engines? and would it be more difficult going with the ford engine verses the chevy blocks has far as the entire setup ( tranny and rearend ).

small block fords have been done and there are benefits like front distributor, i believe they are narrower. i think most folks go with the sbc due to the amount of swap info out there and the availability of mounts and headers. added to that is the gm interchangeability for rear axle, driveshaft and tranny setup and it has a lot going for it.

you can put anything in a luv if you have the skill/knowledge how to do it. i am in the process of putting a 351 Modified in my 1980 4x4 right now. trust me, it is alot of custom fabrication, but it will be worth it. if it is a 2wd, you wont have to worry about tcase/front end, but either way, there will still be alot of custom work. btw, i know putting a ford in a chevy isnt really looked highly on by some, but i got everything i needed for a nice price

The only 302 I would put in a Luv would be the DZ 302 69 Z28 motor. Image
