Ouch. So what are your plans? V8/V6 hot rod or just a nice stock driver?

Just plannin on makin a nice stock driver for now. Someday, maybe I'll do the V-8 conversion. But for now I can only afford the body work and parts to make it like new stock again. Got a pic of my mostly rust free truck direct from Texas.

The wrecked one is way too rusted out in the floors and the bed! Besides that, the roof in banged up from a tree limb. Look at the roof!

I thought it looked like the roof was tweaked in those first pics but I wasnt sure. I think everyone here would agree that if only one gets saved its one less going to the crusher. Mine is almost ready. Ive got some body work left but hope itll fire up this weekend. If I can drive it to a show on fathers day in my old stomping grounds Ill be happy.

I'm not totally given up on the wrecked one! I'm gonna save all the good parts I can and make a trailer out of the bed. I'm hoping to take the good one to a show July 23 in Knoxville, TN! I've got a lot of work ahead of me!

Doing the electrical work this Saturday. I need to know what extra wires I'll need when I put the a/c on it. Here is another pic of the trucks. I'll need to get some newer photos. Got the multi-colored one about ready to go to the paint shop for a nice coat of electric blue!

I'll get newer updated photos soon. Thank bob! I'll let you know when I find out where those wires are located and if the non-a/c truck has em.

In my non A/C 79 It has all the factory wires for the A/C. They are the green wires. I figured this out buy using the diagram in the Tech section of this site.

Thanks for your help there man! I need to use the wiring off the wrecked truck because the other one sat for years in Texas heat and sun with no hood! Needless to say, the connectors are baked!

Well, I'm not makin a trailer after all. Got the rear bumper off the wrecked truck, and about took a chunk of the frame with it! I'd say my old truck is going to be laid to reast after becoming an organ donor!

Tell me about it! I'm at least gonna save all the good parts I can and keep for extras. I've got to get another truck to build after I finish this one.

Got the motor and tranny out this weekend. Need to replace all the gaskets and seals before I drop it in the other truck. Then, time for the electrical. Oh well, that's life! I'll get more pics in a week or 2 after I get my truck primed.
