well we set my engine in my luv. It took us a while to lift the engine and tranny so it was balanced, and then took only about 10 minutes to get the whole thing in! it sits SOOOOO low! and my crossmember is absolutely perfect. the only thing is I don't think my driver's side header is gonna fit b/c of the steering shaft. We checked for other clearances and whatnot, and next weekend we have to cut a few things and fit a few more things. woo

yeah I know it's so low! I mean we knew it'd be lower, but it's such a huge difference!

The motor mounts are in the Summit catalog. They are Energy Suspension on page 210 in the new catalog.

The reason it's so low is b/c of the crossmember. It's a universal crossmember from a local hot rod shop and a friend of mine's dad cut and welded it to fit. We measured the crossmember to be 25 1/4 if you wanted to know. If you want another picture, let me know, I can do it next weekend.

thanks! it's funny b/c his paws are starting to outgrow him.

that's the crossmember. It bolts to the motor mounts and then bolts in between the frame rails.

thanks!!!

oh i see now. that seems to work pretty good.
i think if i ever do a swap for myself ill get the motor to sit as low as i can get it. oh, since the motor sits so low what are you going to do for exhaust. one of the reasons we had the motors up so high in the ones ive done is to get the blockhugger collector to clear the frame.

I've got blockhuggers and neither of them have problems clearing the frame, actually, but the driver's side one might have a problem clearing the steering shaft. We're gonna do more fitting next weekend.

Congratulations on the swap. I like your choice of colors for the engine. The engine may make the truck sit a little lower, but you can change that with the torsion bars if you don't like it. Maybe it's the weather, but I'm doing mine right now too. I've also got the Hooker Headers, and have been wondering about the fit. keeponkeepinon
