I'll let Phil chime in here and give the history of the truck. All I know is there are parts of my 2 that I sold to him, and part of his original.

Yeah, I ran out of primer. Thanks for posting the pics. I'm a pc dummy. I do good to log on without screwin somethin up.

About the truck, The frame, hood, & right front fender is off the red '80 2wd I had. The bed & cab (both doors, & left front fender) are off the '80 4x4 I got from drumerforhire. Also, there is NO bondo in ANY of the metal, except for what was put in it at the assembly line when it was built.
The seats are from a '91 Chrysler LeBaron convert., the console is from a '75 Camaro, with a B&M Quicksilver shifter.

The '78 I got from drummerforhire is sittin out beside the house (future project for my son). It's all intact, as of right now.

The engine is an '84 350 4 bolt main, balanced, bored .040 over. The rest of it is still being assembled, as I have the time & $$$ to continue.

The trans is out of an '80 Malibu, which only had 77,000 original miles on it. I had a Buddy of mine in Memphis to get his Uncle to BUILD the tranny. (he builds trannies for a livin, & drag races all over the mid-south). It's built for racing. It just don't have the reverse pattern (I don't like the reverse patt), or a trans brake.

The rearend is out of an '89 S-10. 3.42 L.S.. When it goes, THEN, I'll replace it with a 9.

Well, that about sums it up for now. It's a project thats been in the works for the past year. Although I originaly started on it 2 & a 1/2 years ago.............the original cab & bed were pretty well ate up with rust.

Well, I hope ya'll like it alright. I'm happy with it, I know I'll LUV it, when it's finished (yeah, like it will ever be finished, Next engine WILL be a stroker).

oh, the rear wheels are 15x8 Corvette Ralley's 5 lug. The front wheels are 6 lug pre-71, from Summitracing. Hell, as long as they match, I dont care.
The rear tires in the pics, are BFG Comp T/A's 245-50-15's. I've got a pair of BFG Drag radials 275-50-15's, I'm puttin on it Monday.
The front tires are 165R's.

The last pic, of the short block w/chrome timing cover........The chrome cover is gone, along with the fuel pump.
I like the Black wrinkle finish better..........it'll have the valve covers, & breather to match, when it's done.

The rearend IN the truck??????
It's a factory width S-10. It bolts right in. I don't remember the actual width. But, I'm sure someone on here knows it.

don't do any hard launches with that rear and it should hold up, otherwise keep some spare axles around.

lookin' good!

Yeah, I like the wheels too. ( I need to order another set of Vette ralleys for the back with a 5 inch backspacing -vs- the 4 in. thats on it now, to set the tires even with the fenderwell lip). I love the tubbed.....pro-street look!!

I thought the tranny, & engine would look good painted to match ( I started to paint the tranny Aluminum).

It was either 6 or 8 cans, of primer.........................
Once it's DRIVEABLE , on the road.........I'm gonna sand it all back down, & have it sprayed the original blue.

Thanks. The chrome valve covers are now history.........got the Black ones on it, as well as the breather.

Color.......looks like it'll be (Factory, Baby, Powder Puff, Sky) WHATEVER color of Blue, that thang originally came!!
But, it'll be primer for a WHILE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Was, originally gonna go '80's GM Pickup Red (Red was the color of my original Luv.......too much rust.....only thing left of it is the hood, R. front fender, frame, & a spare set of doors), but, I don't wanna have to paint the door jambs, interior, & change, OR Dye a perfectly good Blue headliner!!
SO, Blue it IS!!!........someday.

I hope to start installing the New Micro Remote Mount 14 circuit wiring harness, in it this weekend. :multi: 8)
