I was watching a hot rodder build off and was just curious as to other opinions. Do you prefer the old school classic rod or the new swoopy modern rod? Personaly I like the old stuff. Classic lines, chrome and recycled parts.

so i like alittle of both and a mixtue of the two

old skool all the way...........seeing a car/truck painted with the classic matte black paint job (not primer black) is a rarity now a days. That is why wen I get my truck doen it is going to be the classic matte black with white/orange/red fade flames........

HECK YES WITH THE OLD SKOOL. you see what color my truck is in my sig. yep thats right flat black. i dont like those street rods with $20000 paint jobs. id rather spend $20 bucks and get some rattle cans. it has to be ratty.

My own opinion is that when you start adding electronics and power this and that, you lose touch of what hot rodding is about. Its not about who can have the most gadgets, chrome and money spent. Its about beefing it up and driving the damn thing. Hell, my truck is gonna be a one seat, no carpet, in primer mess for as long as it takes me to get to finishing it. But Im going to drive the hell out of it regardless. Love that Jesse James rod. I just watched that episode Monday.

I guess i'm like most people on this site. I like the old school hot rods. Anytime you get into someone just showing off how much money they can put into a car is a turn off for me. The too slick rods I've seen are trailer queens. On the other hand, there have been some really cool inovations. Inovation is what it's all about. I like checking out what other Luv owners have done, but if you can't drive it, what good is it. I have a Lt1 going into my Luv truck. I know it's computerized, but they haven't made them since 1997, eight years ago. I'm putting it in, and I'm doing the bodywork and painting it. Yes I'll have to buy a harness, but with a 4l60e I should get pretty good mileage, IF I keep my foot out of it. It's just not happening fast enough.
