hey follow buddies. went snow boarding with my two boys today, here in washington. 18" of new snow, so it was nice boarding for the 1 1/2 runs I made before i shattered my right ankle.

How does this relate to chevy luv trucks? Throttle foot. any follow up posts to this should convey your sympathy throughout my estimated 6 1/2 week recovery. They will probably put a pin in it monday.

One word of advice to anyone that snow boards- If stopping on your uphill edge, bend your knees, man. the bottom droppedout and came back up. I was stiff legged, i knew better, and my whole weight bent my ankle up to about my chin . DANG IT!

I don't snowboard because I'm clumsy enough to snap something eventually and I don't like long term pain.

Kinda the same reason I don't own a motorcycle.

Both look like fun though.

i have my fair share of broken bones, pins, screws and stiches in me.
and i dont snowboard or skate any more
havent ever snowboarded, never felt the need to strap a peice of plywood to my feet and go balls first down a mountain

Thats to bad about your ankle. I have broken a lot of bones, and I know the pain, especially when you have to work with them. Every time I see people snow boarding, I can see myself trying to stand on one, and frailing my arms around like a helicopter just to stand up. Makes my whole body ache just to think about it. Hope you recover soon.

I got one and a half runs in. there was 18" of Nice, supple, virgin, sweet, powder. Only to my demise- ..............

no pin, just got out of the bone doctor, and they will let it heal as is. Only three months till spring, so the throttle foot should be reabilitated.

1980 LUV 4x4, going under re-construction...

yesterday marked one week down, about 5 +- to go. 49 degrees north, its about an hour nw of spokane wa.

the luv is parked for the winter. I do pull up and open the garage door to take a peek. then pretend to unload something, take another peek, close the door. I'm goin nuts here.

get a screw in it friday morning. Yay. a week and a half of healing and they want to put a screw in.

Screw that!!!(Pun intended) I feel for ya, My mother broke her leg bout 2 years ago and they had to put pins n screws in it. I had to help her for a long time. But shes old and frail and your young and strong. This to shall pass I know what you mean about sneaking peeks of your truck, Mine was broke down for a bout 6 weeks and I would find exuses to go and see it in the shop.(Umm I left a pen in there I gotta look for it )

heres a pathetic update.

Screw screws! ouch! There is more pain and discomfort in the screws than breaking the ankle. dang it! put them in, two small ones in the little bump on the inside of my right ankle bone. THE THROTTLE FOOT IS BEING REPAIRED!

Ive decided to take and post luv pics as soon as this pile is healed enough to roll the luv out. I think I will need to Email them to someone (like ben) or something whacked like that. Any takers?

i have 4 in my right shoulder, wait till they start healing and then they itch. ever had a broken bone and a cast? yeah its worst that that

Cast came off yesterday. Swollen, tight, painful. I thought id be a day or so working out the kinks, and back at my life. Nope- i see a couple weeks here.

hey good luck on the recovery man. these are the reasons i DONT snowboard. i OFF ROAD instead. gettin stuck in the mucky muck dont hurt, 'cept in the pocket book sometimes!!

yeah. its pretty pathetic looking. all swollen. hurts worse now with the cast off, but I guess thats part of the rehab. anyone want to buy a sweet snowboard setup.
