They are almost a bolt in swap.My truck had one in it when I got it so I left it and planned on going to a 9" Ford when finances allowed.
I took my truck to the strip Friday and broke a axle on the 1st pass.It twisted off just past the spines and made for an interesting ride.
Due to the design of a c clip axe ,the axle & wheel came out and before it was over I was pointing back at the tree in the wrong lane.I was going solo so I didn't hit anything.
They work good for the street,but I wouldn't recomend it for anything past that.

Well I hope you and the truck came out ok on that ride! Thanks for sharing the experience, hopefully your experience with this rear will make others more aware of the dangers. Good safety information to know, thanks Rat!

that is why NHRA requires c-clip elemateors ! when you get it back together let us know what it goes at the track good luck
