okay, I'm having an extremely difficult time getting a hold of a luv that runs good enough to be my dail driver that ISNT in texas or oregon (damn the luck). so I was thinking of just buying an 82-86 Isuzu pup, and putting an 81 luv tailgate and luv fender emblems and 81 luv chevy grille.

will all these parts fit in the pup? I have seen the grille for sale at an online store, and I'm sure I can find the tailgate from one of you guys, as well as the fender emblems, but will it all fit as bolt on?


also, are there any other parts I would have to change out to make it say "luv' perhaps something in the dash?

yep, they'll fit but luv 81-82 parts will fit on 82-86 pups, i have plenty of parts from several 86's on my truck but when you start going higher in years, some of the sytling changes, not sure what year but they'll no-longer fit

You might be able to get away with just swapping the grill emblems. I don't recall there being a lot of difference anyway. My wife had an 83 PUP and I parked next to an 81 LUV once and kinda eyeballed things, but I didn't do a whole lot of detailed looking. 80 and lower LUV parts will definitely not fit (grill/gate at least) but you could get some emblems from one and stick them on.

As for other things, I think the steering wheel is different though that 83 PUP had a Grant wheel on it. If you can get the turn signals and horn working, a 72-80 Mikado steering wheel would likely fit and look good. I think it is just the emblem on the horn button that is different though on the 81/82 LUV vs an Isuzu. You get the grill/emblem, side emblems, tailgate, and from the outside you'd never know it was an Isuzu though. I don't think you'll have any fit problems until you get up to an 87 PUP, when they did more redesign on it. 82-84 is going to be the most likely match, but I believe everything is pretty much the same up to 86. An 86 with the 2.3L motor would be a nice upgrade assuming it all fits.
