Post subject: Twin turbo Big block.
PostPosted: Sat Nov 30, 2002 8:24 pm
the october 2002 "chevy High Performance" has an ad on page 44 for Oliver racing- and a photo of a twin turbo '57 chevy with a big block. i guess it belongs to a guy named Bob Reiger.

I am fascinated with the idea of tooling in this area of turbo charging a v8, and was wondering if anyone has come acrossed a web page or link to this car.

I searched the page listed in the ad and nothin.

ive read plenty about the cost, and a 350 with turbo and EFI, etc... "starts" upwards of $12,000 to do it cheap. There was a past article on this and they say they can get 1200+ ponies from one of these blocks, but it is about to tear itself apart! ABSO-FREAKING-LUTELY AMAZING.

some of these cars can get 15 to 20 mpg, and easily turn out 750 - 900 hp. Im lucky to get 5-6 mpg.

Reiger is now retired but that was definitely a bad ass car. NMCA was getting 5hp per cubic inch on their small blocks. That means a 400" small block chevy makes about 2000hp.

another interesting motor to check out. Mike Morans 632" BBC Quad Turbo. this motor has not a single gasket in it. check it out.

I would right-click on the link, select Save As... and save it to my desktop or somewhere and play it like that. If you're on a dial-up connection, it just works better that way. 8)
