I just got my truck back from the painter and i must wait awhile before i can apply any wax. In the mean time i'd like to put the side marker lights and emblems back on. Does anyone know of a good way to install these items in a way to protect the finish from getting damaged? I'd really hate to remove them later and find that the paint has stuck to the part and peeled from the bodywork

He said a few days but he's not too sure.I looked up some info on FUL-CRYLID enamel and i got anywhere from 30 to 60 days cure time before wax. I'd like to drive it around but the big thing is the side view mirrors, they're needed to be legal. The door jambs and inner door areas were painted so seals would be a benefit just to tighten up the doors. I'd like to put a coat of wax on every repainted surface for some kind of protection but i dont want to wait that long before i can drive the truck.

Hey bro If I'm not mistaken you only need one mirror on the truck just thr drivers side and the rear veiw so just go with one! lol any way I would wait at least 3 days before mounting anything on it to for the quick cure but as for waxing I would at least wait the minimum of 30 days. I talked to a friend of mine who does painting there he said the 60 days is just cause you got it painted in the cooler time of the year. If you got it painted during the summer it usually takes about 2 weeks for a good hard cure.

I have always heard that it is 30 - 60 days before wax.

I don't run any side view mirrors on mine. just a rear view........

I just got a diamond liner sprayed in to the bed of my truck. The liner itself looks good but my paint got screwed up. The masking tape used to outline the area to be lined peeled up the paint! Now i must get it fixed. Keep this in mind : "Wait a good long time for the paint to cure before lining the bed of your truck". I had to learn the hard way.

Thank you for all the kind words. E-mails too. Now i can look into doing some cool stuff like tweaking the motor. This truck will never be a show piece, it only has to be fun to drive. Its got a funny rumble thru the body that i must hunt down. Other than that, its sweet to drive.

Uhhhhh, ya they are. He's at the bottom, last row. If you really don't see him try refreshing your browser window. Your computer may be showing you a cached index page from last time you were on the site.
