Last year I purchased a 79 LUV with a 350, TH350, Ford 9". I have recentley rebuilt the engine, trans, cleaned up frame, and added step side.

Now I am ready to reassemble. I will be adding a new exhaust system. :? What type of headers are out there that will fit this combo? I really don't want to use the stock exhaust manifolds that it had. I was hoping to add 2.5 or 3 inch exhaust pipe. Not sure if it will clear or not. The previous owner pounded the 2" exhaust down to about 1" so that it would clear.

I hope to post pictures soon.

Thanks,
Mike

I'm 99% sure that you can still order the Hooker Headers from Summit Racing. Ask for Hooker part number 2140. They should be available with or without ceramic coating.

If you need more info or want part numbers for other parts such as Hooker's motor mount kit, check out the V8 Engine Swap article on the luvtruck.com web page under "Information".

I know for a fact Summit has them in stock, I called to confirm pricing when I wrote the engine swap article a couple weeks back.

Another thing to note on the header topic, is if you convert your truck over to coilover's on the front and lose the tortion bars this opens up header options. I have seen guys run just about any header they can find when the tortion bars are out of the picture. I don't have any specific applications to share though. Thanks
