Its a cover up... but a REALLY good one. I bought one like it a few years ago for my old 76, and it looks OEM. Even the texture looks right. My dash was so screwed up, I had to cut big hunks out of it and glue it to what was left. I can tell you from experience, this cap is really solid. (I sound like a salesman here... :roll: )

JC Whitney sells one just like this.
