I am in the process of changing rear gears so I can drive it to Gatlinburg in April. I am going to a 3.25 so I can hit the freeway and maybe be able to afford the gas. Its about 120 miles from here.

Anybody else planning on going?

whats going on there then ?? If I got a new engine in mine I may try to go but it will be on a trailer bout 350 miles for me I think but at 13:1 compression I cant afford the gas to get there much less the .700 plus lift roller cam that will be wearin out fast LOL

Luv4Me are you going to be able to make it. I am going to be off next week and will finish getting ready to go. I plan on taking several pictures of it all cleaned and primed in one color. I am hoping to sell it while I am up there. I hope it don't rain!!!!

hey im going in the RSX cause several things got in the way while working on the luv and it haulted progress for a little bit.
I still plan on meeting you at 6:00 in athens if that is still correct.

I would like to also suggest that we drive up 321 and bypass knoxville and sevierville. it is a much nicer drive and lots less traffic.

If it had been just 2 more months away I would have my truck running again and been there . Oh well, maybe next year.

We are planning on going up 411. I have never been that way but one of the guys going has.

411 isn't a bad ride. I came all the way to Chattanooga in the luv from west Knoxville once. I bet we hit 321 from 411. that would be the smartest thing to do.

The good winshield is in with the new rubber and I should be getting the spray gun out tomorrow. I am starting to have mixed emotions about selling ,but I know it would be best.

yep....get the truck the way you want it and sell it. I never understood that.
of course I would say don't sell it!

its gonna be a fun run up there! too bad I can't take my truck.
minor setbacks and working on it by myself kept that from happening. d'oh!

Well it made it up and back with no problems. Checked fuel milage once and was getting 10 m.p.g. and I can live with that. I have the truck to the point that I can just put fuel in and go and this weekend proved that. I ended up with about 300 miles on it Saturday.

I did find out that some caution must be used when passing and it gets on the freeway great.

Well next years tax check paints the LUV and put's her in a show at the Charlotte Motor Speedway. Got to get Nummy to get the info since he lives on top of the stupid track.

Might be time to learn him who's boss when I pull up there with my stock luv, with my 72 doors, my 76 body and my 75 cab with my 77 engine and my 72 headlights, and my Mikado Rims, and my.... Well, you kinda get the idear.

Travis, I am glad to see you are getting so much done on your truck. Keep a eye out in the Accelerator for some local events. Also every 4th Sat. in Cleveland they have a cruise in. I have to work tomorrow but will try and get next month off. I just need fuel and a clean up and I am ready.
I have been told by everyone I know I would be nuts to sell and the straw that broke the camels back is the little Mrs. is starting to say it. I am not planning on doing anything to the Luv this year except drive.
As soon as you get yours going we can hit some event together and everybody can say look 2 old S-10's.
