Post subject: Need help with rubber seal replacement in LUV transfer case

Anyone ever replaced the rubber seal in the front outport shaft in a 79 4x4 luv's transfer case? My son's trying to replace his and no matter how he puts the new seal in it leaks. No transmission shop knows what to do.

might try running some grease on the seal or the shaft before installing it. It might not be sealing well is all and a little grease as a prelube will help. Also put the open end twards the case. Hope that helps.
