well it passed yesterday. i locked my hubs before i went to the inspection place and told the guy they wouldn't unlock. (due to safety concerns a 4x4 with non-unlocking hubs cannot be put on the dyno-motor test) so it has to be run on the 2 speed test ( the standards aren't as tough on the 2 speed) so he put it on and it passed and then checked the pressure test for the gas cap and it failed. he tried it again and it passed. i was really sweatin it. it passed the emission test real good. the high speed test reading was 15 (220 limit) so it was real good. the low speed was 100 (220 limit) so not as good but still real good. so today i pulled the catalytic converter back off (federal emmision truck, not supposed to have a catalytic converter but was the only way we could get it to meet the standards last year). i just put it on for the test then take it back off. next year my truck will be exempt from the test so i went ahead and redid my exhaust. i pulled off the 1 7/8 pipe and cherry bomb glass pack. i ran 2" from the header to the new turbo muffler, then used the stock 1 7/8 tailpipe. i also took my smog pump belt back off and tommarow i'm going to install my webber :D so now my luv is back on the road and it drives great. seems peppier than i remembered maybe its the header and the turbo muffler. i found my digital camera so i'll get some pics soon.

Glad to hear it. That's what I like about Oregon, I just did a title transfer on the 80 I bought a month ago. And the lady at the DMV, asked..."do you want to buy your tags too?" lol the truck isn't even running but I got tags through 2005. :D Here, 21 yrs old = no test. :D

Oregon only has two areas that are required to test. The Portland Metro area and Rogue Valley/Medford area. I just make sure I don't live near either location. ;) Portland Metro is testing 1975 and newer vehicle with no forward rolling start date. (So 1975s need to test this year, and next, and the next, etc) The Medford area uses a rolling 20 year rule, so everything eventually becomes exempt.
