I gotta ask how come your dash looks so nice.

I put a new one in mine about 4 years ago and it's already started cracking again. As far as I know, you can't buy them anymore either.

all I can say is I keep the black majic sprayed on it!
I dont want any cracked dash no mo'!
if I would have known they would have been all sold out by now I would have purchased another one and put it in storage!

new pics of truck with fenders off on buildup page by the way.

who has purchased the dash caps from JCWhitney? are they worth a crap?
do they cover much? I dont know what they look like. I wonder if any other dash pad is adaptable to the luv dash frame.

Yep, I would have bought another one also, if I had been thinking, seen one go for $400 on Ebay!!!
As for the caps, my brother bought a luv that had one and that thing almost looked worse than the cracks!! Made his dash look like a humpback or something plus it didn't hide the cracks on the edges. Only thing I can say about keeping them from cracking is, keep em moisterized with something and out of direct sun as much as possible. Back in the day, my dash was in pretty good shape. I use to armor all it all the time, then I quit for a while and that is when the dash went to hell as the armor all dried out. Luckily now it stays in a garage so hopefully it wont happen again. Next time I talk to my bro I will see if he can still get them as he got mine for me cuz he is a parts man at a Chevy dealership.

I got one of the dash caps from JC whitney about a year ago when I went through the interior.. it was about 65.00 and it looks good. I actually have it on the truck now, just loose since my dash is totally wasted. The cap itself is nice, if you want I can take some pictures of it, you just have to promiss not to die laughing at my dash pad. Actually the dash pad is the only thing on my truck that remains that is original, and it shows! LOL

yeah take some pictures pleeeeze.

I would like to see pictures of different people's interiors and engine compartments as well.
it helps to see other pictures to get ideas or just to see the different setups.

thanks

Ok I will take a snapshot of it so you can see the cap itself.. but for a quick peak, go into the photo gallery of the site, and take a look at my truck, just click the thumbnail of my truck and it will open up a page of pics, and the dash cap is actually pictured in there, it's the interior pic in the middle of the page, you can see the cap is on my dash. It is actually just hiding the real dash since it looks so aweful.
