Does anyone kmow where I can buy A new gas tank for my 1979 shortbed 4x4 luv. and does anybody know what the small plastic vent tank is for that is mounted in the bed of the truck on drivers side that has 3 hoses that gos to it from the main fuel tank and can it be took out and rerouted or plug those lines. This causes a bad place for rust in the side of the bed because it traps dirt and moister. Thanks Bronson

I am installing a fuel cell and I will no longer need the gas tank.
it has no rust, but the gas that has been in it for a while so you might want to clean it out.
the gas tank came out of a 1979 model, but it has a 1980 sender in it.
(I used my tank in another truck)
where are you? I dont know what the legalities are about shipping a gas tank.
I will let it go CHEEP if we can come up with a way to get it to you.
email me for details

Be careful, I believe that vent thingie may be part of the emission system. Removing it may cause problems for you at smog time.

The tank in the bed is a fuel seporator tank according to the shop manual I have for my truck.

Its actually a fuel vapor separator. It directs fuel vapors into the crankcase. I doubt it would cause any smog issues. Bryan
