Total engine rebuild. Just converted to Weber with fuel pressure regulator and the performance difference is off the charts for the 1.8.
Any suggestions on the new exaust? Replacing the entire system if the header is bad. I don't want the bee in a beer can sound, just good performance.

I just replaced my exhaust header with the pace setter header. Like others before me i had to flatten a portion of it to allow the clutch fork to move freely. I then put a bit of new pipe to a cherry bomb glass pack. Sounds pretty good. I think i will put a muffler back on it to quiet things down a bit.
A word of advice, if you get the pace setter exhaust header in black it is not high temp paint and burned off the first time i drove it. I should have stripped it and painted it myself with high temp. Or just spend a few bucks more and get the chrome pipe.

I went with a pacesetter header and 2.5-inch exhaust all the way out. Then I bought a magnaflow muffler at 4wo|truck accessories to have a deep sound.

With too little backpressure you can get a very annoying "chuckle". I have had to use two mufflers, one as a sort of resonator, to smooth out the sound.
