Hey there all,,, I hadn't done much on my little 2x4 LUV that I got. The body was pretty rough after it was in storage at a place I was assured would be well looked after out of the weather, but wow,,, reality is the bloke who was storing it for me is a moron and his actions pretty much stuff a reasonable repairer. The idiot accelerated the decline of the little ute by parking it under a bunch of pine trees and yep,,, within two years the body was had it :/

Anyway I gave up searching for a decent body here in Oz, and thought the little '76 LUV was destined for the scrap yard or just use the chassis for a rat rod later down the track. But I was down at one of the local wrecking yards a few weeks ago looking for an assortment of parts for my daily driver, and low & behold,,, I see this fresh arrival in the form of a '79 4x4 LUV with an almost immaculate cab, and factory tub body that was also in very good condition. So yep,,, I scrounged up the funds and loaded her up on a trailer on Friday afternoon and introduced it to the back yard to join the ranks of other patiently waiting projects :P

The new acquisition unfortunately has a label placed on it advising it's been put on the 'Statutory Write-Off' register, so that means I'll never be able to put it back on the road,,, but due to it's age, one of the wrecking yard workers said it may not have been officially logged in the data base. In Australia, any vehicle under 16 years of age that are 'Written-Off' legally need to be listed on the database. But because it's well over the 16 years old, in the next few days I'll jump online and fill out the form to see if it is listed or not,,, here's hoping it's not on the write off list.

Regardless it'll make an awesome body swap for the 2x4 and between the two LUV's I've got more than enough parts for a fairly hassle free and timely build.

I took some photos on my phone, so I'll have to transfer them to here for all to check out my nice little find.

Here's some photos of the 1979 4x4 KB Isuzu I bought last week to resurrect my '76 2x4 LUV
I started to strip the '76 LUV down for the rebuild and there's more rust than metal, so I bought this to swap cabs and fit the rear tub. But I'm considering keeping the 4x4 but swap it out with all the LUV badges and dash etc,,, plus the 76 LUV has a 1.8 & 5 speed? Mmmm decisions decisions :?
