So my car decided to finnaly give out on me an i needed to get a new vehicle...well i have had my eye on the truck for a while because it was in the same apt complex an had a for sale sign in the window but now had a reason to pull the trigger on it...for $1100 i feel like i stole this truck lol...1980 Luv 4x4 4 speed...runs great (apparently the previous owner only had it for like a year but said the guy he bought it from rebuilt the engine then sold it an it runs like it lol) has a slight body lift and the interior aint half bad, also the dash is black an in Imaculate condition minus a couple missing heater vents but no cracks or fadding...now minus a tune up an a few little cheap things here or there i wont be doing much to the luv anytime soon because ill be dumping what money i can into my car (the car is my baby lol) but i figured id introduce my truck to the community an say hi lol

Nice truck. I don't know if I would say the dash is in immaculate condition.

I guess it is better to have it come unglued from the frame then crack! 8) Makes me kind of wonder if it has been replaced. Mine has one small hump where I must not have got it glued down good.

good lookin 4x4! that tire carrier is pretty sweet on there.
and hey the dash may not be perfect but you can glue it down and make it perfect enough  much cheaper than most of the alternatives

Do you have any brighter pics of it, It doesn't look like a cap to me but hard to tell with the dark pics.

So i got pulled over for a headlight but was then informed that because if my lift i also need mud flaps, well my mom works for the city an i was able to score some old rubber off a street sweeper belt an a chunk of angle iron, cut the rubber to fit, bolted it to the iron an bolted the angle iron to the bottom side of the frame. There kinda honkey but i kinda dig um, might cutbout some kinda design to bolt on um later.

I also had a set of hella fog lights i bought for my celica but cuz shes out of commision i figured why the hell not put um on the luv, the brush gaurd had tabs for um. I might move um up top later or get another set cuz the roll bar has 4 tabs too lol

im digging the tire rack. its very similar to the s10 blazer racks. the earlier 1st gen blazers had racks that mounted to the bumper and the later 1st gens had them attached to the body like yours. i bet a lot of the wheelers on this forum will copy the design. we could probably pick up blazer racks for $50 bucks and be pretty much drill and bolt them on. do you know what yours came off of or is it some rare luv specific aftermarket piece from back in the day?

After just kinda browsin around onthe site i think ive discovered that my truck could possibly be a mikado? It dosent have the dash bage but it dose have the steering wheel an seats from he mikado package...is there any other way to tell?

If it sags it probably just needs new bushings. My blazer has quite a bit of play but it my wheeling rig so it doesn't matter to me. You can measure the inside diameter and o.d. Then go to a bearing shop or good hardware store and get some nylon bushing. They should hold up for a while and won't squeak.

Yours appears to be a mikado. Mine has the same interior and it is. Only mikados had bucket seats. Could've been swapped though. Not sure what the definitive way of telling cause 4x4s didn't come with the same badging.
