I used to tow a bass boat with a ball on the stock bumper. The step bumpers have a higher tow rating than the standard bumpers, but the only difference I see is the step bumpers use three frame mount bolts per side instead of the standard two. I just added a third grade 8 bolt. Stopping is more of a problem than towing, adjust your driving habits accordingly. You will have to add a converter adapter to connect your separate signal/brake lights to the combo trailer lights, if you can't find one specifically for LUV/Isuzu one from a Toyota pickup will work, you just have to splice the correct wires together, LUVs were before the now-common plug-&-go trailering connections.
