I am wanting a hitch to haul a motorcycle trailer with our 2 rebels on it. I can probably get one custom fabricated, but would it be ok to tow a trailer with 2 motorcycles on it a good distance? We plan on taking the bikes in the Luv 4 hours away for our anniversary.

My guess is that you will have to buy one of those adjustable hitches. It shouldn't be too hard to make it fit the Luv. Make sure and post a picture or two if you find a solution.

Here's an example:

I used to tow a bass boat with a ball on the stock bumper. The step bumpers have a higher tow rating than the standard bumpers, but the only difference I see is the step bumpers use three frame mount bolts per side instead of the standard two. I just added a third grade 8 bolt.
Stopping is more of a problem than towing, adjust your driving habits accordingly.
You will have to add a converter adapter to connect your separate signal/brake lights to the combo trailer lights, if you can't find one specifically for LUV/Isuzu one from a Toyota pickup will work, you just have to splice the correct wires together, LUVs were before the now-common plug-&-go trailering connections.
