Hi guys

I have stumbled upon a company called Just Dashes (http://justdashes.blogspot.com.au/2012/12/1974-chevy-luv-pickup-truck-dash-pad.html)doing reproduction dashes for LUV's, just wondering if anyone has seen their work before. I have contacted them and they want US$980 for a replacement unit and can do them in different colors for a little bit more.
Seems steep but if they do a good job I'd be all over it.

Matt

Several years ago I contacted them, they said they couldn't do it.

Hi,

I found a link to a reproduction you have done of a chevy luv dash,
wondering if these are still available. I have a 1973 chevy luv and
would be interested in purchasing one.

Matthew

---------------------------------

Hi Matthew,

For a 1973 Chevrolet Luv Truck, we make a reproduction. We make the
reproduction off an original frame that we have here in our shop. We
work off an original frame to ensure that when you go to put it back
in car you know it's going to fit.

Send to: Just Dashes
5941 Lemona Ave.
Van Nuys, CA 91411

Cost: $980 + Shipping

This price includes that restoration of the dash pad in black. For any
other color, you can add $100-$150 depending on the color. I've
attached an order form for your convenience. Let me know if you need
anything else.

Thanks,
Jason

That looks pretty much as good as NOS to me.

Thats...not too far from me. I am going to go check this place out.

Ain't no way I'm spending a thousand bucks on a dash, but I'd very much like to see their setup, and this 'original mold' they're using.

From their site it appears they repair your old dash, it's not a complete replacement.

hmm....so it seems. Good eye.

Well that's ridiculous then! What a terrible idea. How do they match the texture?

I think I will wait and see what Harms can produce with the OEM dash he picked up. I would hope the cost would be more reasonable.

They have a steel crashpad in their workshop that they cut out of a luv for a customer job a couple years back, the customers dash was repaired, then molds were taken of it to make a reproduction model.
