So I always figured if I put plus Itd be better, but today my truck was acting funny on the gas pedal and my friend said it might be because I put 89 octane instead of 87, what do you guys think? I have the stock engine.

Never had a issue with my stock engine running it.

The octane rating is the gasolines ability to withstand compression without combusting (without spark)

On high compression engines, lower octane gas will combust before the spark ignites it.

There is no harm or benefit to running higher octane gas in an engine that is not designed to utilize it.

Some brands (like shell) do put extra detergent additive in their premium gasoline though. That's the only real benefit in a lower compression engine.

Do you guys have any idea why it feels like when I give it gas it feels like nothing happens? Like I get on the pedal, it starts to go for a second than I push the pedal in more and it feels like no gas is getting to the engine, clogged filter or line maybe?? Or could it be just cuz I have only like a gallon of gas in it haha

When i first got my luv it did that it idles and free rev fine but as soon as I would drive it
It would run outta fuel so I put a clear filter at the carb and saw it was barely getting fuel so I put a $40 mr gasket inline fuel pump on it still nothing and it ended being just a clogged line I blew out with the air compressor and it has run great for 500 miles
